Dayan Pagoda is located in the Great Ci'en Temple in Xi'an, China, also known as the "Pagoda of Ci'en Temple". In the third year of Yonghui in the Tang Dynasty (652), Xuanzang presided over the construction of Dayan Pagoda in order to preserve the Buddhist scriptures brought back to Chang'an from the Tianzhu via the Silk Road. There have been several changes, and finally it is fixed to the seven-story tower seen, with a total height of 64.517 meters and a bottom side of 25.5 meters.
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is the earliest and largest existing brick tower of the Tang Dynasty square pavilion style. It is a typical material evidence that the pagoda, the architectural form of ancient Indian Buddhist temples, was introduced into the Central Plains with Buddhism and integrated into Chinese culture.
It is the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units in China. On June 22, 2014, at the 38th UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting held in Doha, Qatar, Dayan Pagoda was a joint application of China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as the "Silk Road: Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor" A site in the “Road Network” was successfully included in the “World Heritage List”.
